MUED 225   Introduction to Music Education

This course is designed to give the prospective teacher an overview of the music education profession.  The course includes: 

1. Competing the College of Education application to the Teacher Education Program (TEP)

2. Exploring philosophies of music education, then creating a personal philosophy

3. Exploring the history of education in the USA and specifically music education

4. Exploring methodologies used in music education 

5. Completing  20 hours of clinical engagement in public school elementary level Music classrooms.
