82415 - ST:Charles Taylor:Secular Age (2020/SP:HUMN-493-02)
In this interdisciplinary course, we will read portions of philosopher
Charles Taylor’s A Secular Age,
tracing his narrative of the movement from a perceived “enchanted” world to a
modern “secular” society. Alongside this, we will read fiction and nonfiction,
listen to music, and look at contemporary art and film in order to trace the
connections between their post-secular content and Taylor’s philosophical
categories.
