Welcome to COMM-250 Basic Digital Photography – Spring 2026!

Syllabus: COMM-250

Required Equipment: A DSLR or mirrorless camera that you own personally OR one borrowed from the school. The camera must have an interchangeable lens and the ability to use all manual settings. Access to the camera's manual is also required. Mobile phones are not permitted for taking photos unless specifically stated.

Assignments: 

1.) New assignments will be available each MONDAY and will be due the following MONDAY.

2.) Photos should be submitted in the  .jpg / .jpeg format only

3.) Photos you submit must include metadata, which comes from the camera when you take a photo. This information includes the settings you used to take the photo such as aperture, shutter speed, ISO, etc. If you choose to use Photoshop, Lightroom, or another program to edit your photos, make sure that your exported photos retain the original metadata.

4.) Photos you submit must be photos that you personally shot this semester. You may go out shooting photos with friends or classmates but you must take and submit your own photos.
