This required graduate-level course presents an introduction and overview of action research processes, techniques, and procedures used to improve K-12 classroom instruction and schools. Topics discussed in this course includes reviewing what action research is, planning action research, analyzing data, writing up research results, and presenting findings to improve professional practice in K-12 and higher education. Ultimately, the course seeks to empower and equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills to conduct an action research project in the area of your study (or specialty). This seminar provides an early opportunity for graduate students to prepare for the rigors of academic work from a Christian worldview perspective and to become familiar with the culture and expectations of the MAT, MEd, or MSHEA program at Lee. All course activities are designed to help teacher-scholars and practitioners develop connections with each other and with the faculty to create a community of learners.
